What is The Professor’s Reserved Graduate about?

Mia Young is twenty-two, a senior who has read Professor Evelyn's paper on desire and the subconscious more times than she can count. Evelyn is the top authority in psychology on campus — cold, brilliant and impossible to impress — and Mia's graduate interview goes wrong within a minute: take off your clothes, Evelyn tells her, or the door is right there.

Then Mia's mother collapses and needs surgery, and the hospital wants three hundred thousand dollars before Monday. Mia goes back to Evelyn's office. She will be the subject of Evelyn's study in sexual psychology on two conditions: formal admission as Evelyn's graduate student, and payment. Evelyn, who also runs a company that designs adult products, has her answer. The Professor's Reserved Graduate is a forbidden romance about a student, her professor and a very unusual contract.

Mia walks into an interview with the celebrated Professor Evelyn and lands, by mistake, in the middle of a trial run of her research equipment. Evelyn writes her off as unprepared, then offers an arrangement instead: a place as her graduate assistant, and a role in the practical half of the study. Mia says yes because her mother needs surgery she cannot pay for. What starts as a contract turns into trust, and then into something neither of them will name out loud — while a rival and an old professor with a forged agreement come for everything they have built.
