Eight years ago at Skyline Aeronautical University, flight student Sarah Harper fell for Nathan Hawk, the graduate teaching assistant who failed her for being ten minutes late. Jennifer White, the chairman's daughter at Universal Aviation, had promised to make Nathan chief pilot if he said yes to her. He said no. So when Sarah found out she was pregnant, she was shown faked black-box data that would get Nathan's license pulled for good — and she walked away, telling him she had only used him to fix her grades.
Now Sarah is a temp at Universal Aviation, raising her daughter Emma. The new CEO is Nathan, the youngest chief pilot in the company's history, and on his flight in, both engines fail. Sarah takes over the emergency channel and talks him down — and gets fired for it. But Nathan knows that voice.
