What is Magic 8-Ball’s Hard No about?
Joyce Barns married airline pilot Hank in a match his grandma arranged, and on their wedding night he had her sign papers guaranteeing an automatic divorce the day after their third anniversary. On that anniversary, Joyce races through LAX security with a Magic 8-Ball that once belonged to Hank, hoping it can change his mind. But after glimpsing him kissing a uniformed colleague, she runs out in tears and is hit by a car. She wakes with the past three years erased, marriage included, and cheerfully tells Hank his uniform looks good on him. Her fiery best friend tears into him for never noticing Joyce’s sacrifices. Hank suspects another trick to get him home, yet he calls his lawyer to put the divorce on hold until she recovers.
