What is I Lost You in Chains about?
Broke and scraping by, Mark has one true friend: his golden retriever, Buddy. When Buddy digs a Powerball ticket out of the trash, Mark wins fifty million dollars — and his new wife, Sarah, and young Toby move into his new mansion.
But Buddy, who narrates the story, can smell a lie. Sarah fits him with an AI smart collar that shocks, and one night he catches her with Mark's gym buddy Jack, close to cracking the safe. To silence the only witness, she fakes an attack with ketchup for blood and convinces Mark that his dog has turned vicious. Mark shocks Buddy and shuts him out of the house.
His one chance to come home is walking Toby back from school. Buddy takes a beating from bullies to protect the boy — then the meat Sarah fed him starts to work, and Toby tells Mark the dog bit him.
