Luna Jones is a waitress who will beat a handsy customer senseless even if it costs her the job — which is exactly why Ethan Hale, chairman of the Hale Group, has been looking for her. He remembers her from a dark night years ago when they were both running for their lives; she doesn't remember him at all. His offer: marry him on a one-year contract, get through to his son, and walk away with a million dollars whether it works or not.

Owen is not really Ethan's son. He is the son of Ethan's sister, found crying beside his mother's body after a business rival sent killers after the family, and he wants Luna out of the house for good. She is not his mom, he tells her, and never will be. Luna took the job, and she tells Ethan to leave Owen to her. My Badass Stepmom is a family comedy-drama about a contract stepmom who refuses to be scared off.
