What is I Mistook the Cursed Alpha for a Stray Dog about?

An animal rehabilitation therapist who has just lost her job is stranded by a flash flood in the mountains. Her strongest glasses break, the fog rolls in, and she walks up to a manor that isn't on any map. In the pouring rain she finds a badly wounded animal she takes for a stray dog, bandages its leg and names it Little Grey.

The residents of Graymont Manor are strange. One speaks... very... slowly. One won't let anyone open a curtain, blames a skin condition and drinks centuries-old wine for breakfast. The bath sits next to the living room, the child in the hall is sprouting tiny shoots, and the chinchilla she wants to pet is called Rowan. Nearly blind without her glasses, she notices none of it. They offer her a job: thirty days as housekeeper, room and board, and pay she can't refuse.

Little Grey is not a dog. I Mistook the Cursed Alpha for a Stray Dog is a fantasy romantic comedy about a near-sighted animal rescuer and the monsters who need rescuing.

Stranded by a flood, out-of-work animal rehab specialist Eileen breaks her glasses and finds a wounded animal in the fog. She names the ‘stray dog’ Little Gray and takes a well-paid thirty-day housekeeping job at Greymont Manor. Unable to see clearly, she mistakes the residents for people and pets who need care: the vampire Lucian, a merman, the feathered dragon Rowan and the elf Seville. Once she can see again, the truth comes out — none of them is human, a cursed fog traps everyone inside, and Little Gray is the werewolf Cassian. As attraction grows between them, Eileen learns her choice will free only one of the cursed, and she starts digging into the deadly wedding they all kept secret.
